How to Prepare a Steel Detailing RFQ Package for Fast Review
What to send when requesting a steel detailing quote so the review can move quickly and assumptions are clear.
Send enough context for scope, not just a drawing cover page.
A good RFQ package should include structural drawings, architectural drawings if miscellaneous steel is involved, specifications, addenda, connection design notes, model files if available, bid forms, and any scope notes from the fabricator or contractor.
If the project is already in revision or field issue status, include the latest clouded drawings, RFI responses, photos, and the current question you need resolved.
